Emmanuel Baptist Church in Sterling has a long and storied history of planting churches, developing leaders and ministering in it's community.  They understand that they are a part of God's effort to bring the hope of Christ to hurting of this world.  

The mission of Emmanuel Baptist is to connect with God and reach out to individuals for the purpose of relationships. Through these connections, we will grow in our understanding of the Word of God. We realize it is our responsibility and joy to spread God’s love from the walls of the church to the ends of the world.

We never know if the Spirit will speak to us through a hymn or contemporary song, so our worship is a mixture of both types of music.  What we do know is that the Bible speaks to us through the Holy Spirit and gives us wisdom and guidance, and it is through the lessons and messages, that you will experience how to apply the truth and knowledge you obtain from the Bible to your daily life.

EBC is a Southern Baptist Church with a statement of faith in line with The Baptist Faith and Message that was adopted by the Southern Baptist convention June 14, 2000. We are members of the Sinnissippi Baptist Association and the Illinois Baptist State Association (www.ibsa.org) who’s purpose is to assist in establishing and developing effective churches in their context.
